Minoxidil
Minoxidil, chemically known as 6- (1-piperidinyl) - 2,4-pyrimidine diamine-3-oxide, is an organic substance, which is a white or quasi white crystalline powder. Clinically, as a potassium channel opener, it can directly relax vascular smooth muscle, has a strong arteriolar dilation effect, reduces peripheral resistance and blood pressure, but has no effect on volume vessels, so it can promote venous reflux. At the same time, due to reflex regulation and positive frequency, cardiac output and heart rate can be increased, but it does not cause postural hypotension.
